Custom Records in Netsuite
In NetSuite, records are used to keep track of all the data in your account. Custom records can be made by administrators and users with the Custom Record Entries permission to collect data that is unique to your company’s requirements. Using custom fields, you can include data from custom records in entities, items, or transactions.
For instance, you could want to record the training sessions your staff has attended. Create a custom record type called Employee Courses because NetSuite does not have a record type specifically for this use.
Enabling Custom Records in Netsuite
To enable the Custom Records feature, go to Setup > Company > Enable Features > SuiteCloud. Then, on the SuiteCloud subtab, Tick the Custom Records checkbox.
Once enabled , you can modify Custom Records by , going to Customization > Lists, Records, & Fields > Record Types.
